Another Hybrid

Another Hybrid is a solo performance, that combines dance, music, video installation, scientific fun facts, hybrid mythology and extravagant animal costumes. The piece is a celebration of collages, shapeshifting bodies and queerness in the animal kingdom. The lead character of this performance is a shapeshifting human-animal hybrid, changing form by changing their head, growing a tail or shedding their skin.

 

Another Hybrid is a quirky musical show camouflaged as a nature documentary, that invites the audience to marvel at the diversity of gender expression and sexuality in the natural world. The work attempts to rewrite stories we tell about animal biology and, simultanously, about humans, their gender and sexuality.

The solo is a work-in-progress and currently looking for co-production partners, collaborators and funding.
